The trek begins at Momela Gate, the starting point for the climb in Arusha National Park.
Trekkers will hike through lush forests and can spot various wildlife, such as colobus monkeys and numerous bird species.
The first day's destination is Miriakamba Hut, approximately 2,514 meters (8,250 feet).
On the second day, trekkers ascend further through the moorlands, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
The hike leads to Saddle Hut, around 3,570 meters (11,712 feet).
The summit day begins with an early morning start to reach Socialist Peak, the summit of Mount Meru.
Trekkers will experience a challenging ascent to an altitude of 4,562 meters (14,968 feet), where they can witness a breathtaking sunrise and panoramic views.
After summiting, trekkers will return to Saddle Hut for a short rest before continuing to Miriakamba Hut for the night.
The final day involves descending through the forested trails back to Momela Gate.
Trekkers will complete the necessary formalities at the gate before returning to Arusha.
While the standard itinerary for Mount Meru Trekking is 3 to 4 days, some operators may offer variations, including additional acclimatization days, to enhance the chances of reaching the summit successfully.
